Snow, Cold, and more snow!

February always seems like the longest month of the year.  I don't think I realized that when I was a child.  We had snowdays and February vacation.  As a child I wanted to be out playing; building snowmen, sliding, digging tunnels.  I'd stay out until my nose was red and my mom told me it was time to come in.  There would always be a steaming mug of hot chocolate when I came in after being out burning off my energy in the cold snow.

But as an adult I see things different. Snow no longer means a break from school.  It means stuff to move in order to get around the homestead.  It means junk on the roads which make travelling dangerous.  It means that much longer before the grass is green and we can plant our gardens.

Sometimes, though, I do wish it was as simple as it was when I was a child.  Just go outside and play and come in to some hot cocoa and sit and watch some Bugs Bunny on TV.  We don't have TV here (we have a television but no tv service and living in the country we get no free local stations), but I can still sit and have a nice mug of hot chocolate and reminisce about when I was little :)
